YOU CANT BUILD IT ANY CHEAPER!
Even veteran craftsmen admit theyd be hard
pressed to make a comparable railroad car for less money. Plum Cove Studios
proudly offers these cars including cast iron wheels CNC machined
to IBLS standards (4.125" tread) and real arch bar trucks -- for barely
more than the street value of the component parts.
YOU CANT BUILD IT QUICKER!
Combined, the engineers at Plum Cove Studios have been in the model railroad
hobby for over 65 years... constantly searching for the quickest and easiest
way to build model rolling stock. The Phinneas T. Phlatt design is the culmination
of that tireless research. Combined with "real-world" design principles,
our Phlatt Car is an excellent tracking, perfectly-proportioned workhorse
able to haul heavy loads -- all from a kit that assembles in less than
a week.
YOU CANT BUILD IT EASIER!
All youll need to assemble the kit -- from
start to finish -- is a hammer, drill, screw driver, pliers, socket drivers
and basic painting supplies. If you put your own socks on, youve got
the aptitude to assemble the Phinneas T. Platt. All holes are pre-drilled
in special jigs to assure uniformity. Each kit comes complete with illustrated
instructions. A "help line" phone number is also included just
in case.
WHY BUY A PHLATT CAR?
THE PLATT CAR: MOST VERSATILE CAR
ON THE RAILROAD!
Phlatt Cars are the simplest, most versatile cars
on the railroad. Any railroad veteran will tell you that every car has a
purpose... but none is as adaptable as the Phlatt Car. A Phlatt Car can
carry everything.. Today youll haul passengers sitting on our optional
"Adirondack" seats, tomorrow youll haul gravel utilizing
the optional side panels that fit snugly into the "stake" pockets",
the day after tomorrow youll haul five gallon pails of liquid to their
destination. No other car on the railroad is as versatile as the Phinneas
T. Platt Car. |

NEW TO THE HOBBY?
If youre just getting into large scale model railroading, rolling
stock (freight cars) are a good place to start. Just having a car or two
will allow you to join any one of the many "Live Steam" clubs
that dot New England (Well even give you a list of clubs.). Although
theyre nice to have, you dont need a steam locomotive. Many "Live
Steamers" have built engines, but have no cars. As a result, theyre
often willing to pull other peoples cars. Its a win-win situation,
and is a great way for you to join the hobby. (And don't forget to check out our wonderful new locomotive, the "Generic Electric".)
Put your Phlatt cars to work. Live Steam clubs are always evolving and are
constantly seeking vibrant new members to help with the expansion and maintenance
of trackage. Phlatt cars are perfect for that work: hauling track panels,
gravel, tools and even passengers to the project site.
YOU WONT FIND A SIMPLER, MORE
RUGGED CAR ANYWHERE!
Plum Cove Studios follows famed railroad baron
Phinneas T. Phlatts philosophy of building railroad cars in an strong,
yet uncomplicated manner. Parts are oversized and beefy. This assures not
only a simplified construction but a long service life as well. An added
benefit is cost effectiveness and quicker construction.
STAY ON THE TRACKS!
Often easier said than done. Plum Cove Studios Phinneas T. Phlatt Car is a simple, yet rugged transport designed especially
for the convoluted 7.25 inch railroads common to New England. With a 600
pound load limit, you can comfortably carry two generously sized adults
or a full load of various supplies without fear of over-stressing the car
or affecting its ability to stay on the tracks.
